Bix Medard : Profile
Influenced by the likes of Björk, Coco Rosie or even Serge Gainsbourg, Bix Medard points towards 'la nouvelle chanson française’ in an electro-acoustic down-beat style. Bix Medard started early 2008 as a musical collaboration between Peter Clasen and Bix. The electronics and new-wave-influenced bassplaying by Peter Clasen are combined with the sweet soft voice and flute playing of Bix. Based in Brussels, Bix Medard reflects the contradictions and plurality of today's society, a multicultural, contemporary and electronic world, associating one of the oldest instruments of the world (the flute) with electronic sounds and poetry. The texts fused with the music suggest individual choices in life, thoughts and memories of past experiences at the borders of reality and imagination. Risk-taking, death and hope are some of the themes. Both being visual artists, Peter Clasen, leader of the electronic Brussels based band Neven, and Bix, painter and musician, collaborate with other artists, photographers, dancers, painters, designers, being in a certain way a meeting point of various art forms into a musical scheme.
Bix Medard becomes quickly an important player in the Brussels art-scene. They perform on special occasions, at the opening of Brass Web, Modo Bruxellae, Les Bains Connective… An exclusive vinyl (58 tours!!!!) with a Bix Medard song “Parking58” is released to celebrate the 58 years of the Atomium.
Their first CD was released in January 2009.
April 2009, the album is charted at 32 in the CMJ Charts. (College Music Journal, USA).
A second album, containing remixes and some new songs is set to be released in October 2009,
In collaboration with Y-dress?, the upcoming fashionhouse from Brussels. This second album will premier in Tokyo Japan, with some special live shows, bringing together music, modeling and photography.

ＢＩＸ　ＭＥＤＡＲＤ　Ｐｒｏｆｉｌｅ

ボーカリスト&フルーティストのビックスと、エレクトロポッププログラマー&ベーシストのペーターが２００７年に結成。翌年、ＣＤ「ＢＩＸ　ＭＥＤＡＲＤ」をリリース。
ファッションデザイナーや写真家、ダンサーなど、様々なアーティストと共にパフォーマンスコンサートを行う。

ビックス
幼少時からフルートを始め、クラッシックからジャズ、エレクトロポップなど表現の幅は広い。絵画や音楽を中心にフランスやハンガリー、ノルーウェー、日本などで様々なアートパフォーマンスを行ってきた。２００７年ベルギーでペーターとのユニット「ＢＩＸ　ＭＥＤＡＲＤ」を開始。

ペーター　クラーセン
９０年代にエレクトロポップグループ「ＮＥＶＥＮ」のリーダーとして活動、ベルギー、オランダ、フランス等のエレクトロシーンで旋風を起こす。その後に結成したブラス＆エレクトロバンド「ＤＢＢＢＸ」でＢＩＸと出会う。

二人は音楽を色々なディシプリン（抑制）の出会いと考える。それは表現しきれない感情の仮の姿であり、表現可能なコントロールされた部分の組み合わせでもある。ビックスの歌は感情を紐解く道具であり、ペーターのベースとテクノサウンドはそれに付加を与える推進力となる。
